Starting a real estate career is both exciting and overwhelming, and I know this firsthand. When I began my journey back in 2007, I was a brand-new agent navigating the complexities of the business, unsure of how to proceed. Like many new agents, I felt unprepared, scared of the unknown, and often found myself learning through trial by fire. Those early challenges inspired me to build a supportive environment where new agents could grow, learn, and gain confidence without the steep learning curve I faced.
The challenges I faced as a new agent. I remember one pivotal moment early in my career when a client wanted to make an offer, and I realized I had no idea what to do. At the time, I worked in a small boutique brokerage with limited support, and when I needed help, my colleagues were unavailable. I scrambled to figure things out, calling other agents, but no one was available. I eventually figured things out on my own and managed to get through it. However, I knew this wasn’t the ideal way to learn—especially when dealing with someone’s biggest financial asset. This is why I wanted to create a better system for new agents, one where they could build confidence without feeling alone.
Creating a supportive team environment. At my brokerage, I’ve made it a priority to equip new agents with everything they need to succeed. Instead of relying on a single mentor, my agents have access to an entire team of advisors ready to guide them through every step of the process. From shadowing experienced agents at showings and walkthroughs to learning the details of closings, they gain hands-on experience before working independently. By the time they take on their own clients, they’re confident and well-prepared to handle any situation.
Empowering agents and enhancing client experience. This approach not only empowers agents but also ensures that clients receive the best possible service. When agents are confident and well-trained, clients benefit from their knowledge and professionalism during one of life’s most significant financial decisions. It’s a win-win for everyone involved, and I’m proud of the environment we’ve created—one that supports agents while delivering exceptional experiences for clients.
